NYC Lifestyle Newborn Photos at Home: Owen

It seems so odd to post sessions pre-COVID these days. It’s amazing to relive a session and think just how different our world looked just a few short months ago. Nonetheless, I can’t help but smile when enjoying these photos of this dear family.

I first photographed Kate & Mark for their engagement session years ago on what I think is the coldest day I’ve ever experienced in Nashville. They even agreed on how cold it was, coming from NYC. A few months later, I documented them as they became husband and wife overlooking the Nashville skyline from the Bridge Building across the river.

Thankfully, we stayed in touch over the years and we visited them a few times in the city. I remember getting a sweet email from Kate that she was expecting and hearing about her updates as they prepared to welcome their first son, Elliot. I was overjoyed they chose to welcome me into documenting his first year of life. Now, all these years later, I’m so grateful to call them friends and I’m so grateful I was able to document their newest addition, Owen, in NYC just a few short weeks before the world went into lockdown.

My, what an honor it is to document children & families grow. So much in life changes with each new season….thank you Kate & Mark for inviting me along to be a part of so many of your seasons!
