FAQ: What if my kids are fussy for our family session?

As a mama myself, I totally understand how much work it can be to simply get ready for a family photo session. Trying to get everyone fed, dressed and in the car without a meltdown or blow-out can feel impossible. And then if your child is fussy, you may get a bit worried the photos won’t turn out the way you hoped.

It’s a question I get often, and it’s a concern I totally understand!

So today, I’m here to say….

if you hire a photographer you trust and adore, you don’t have to worry about a thing.

Would you believe me if I told you that most of the sessions you see on my blog included at least one child not having it? Maybe not for the whole session, but pretty much every family session I’ve photographed included either a fussy baby, a toddler who just wants to run, a child who isn’t into smiling for the camera, a baby who just wants down, children who are ready for the photos to be done about 5 minutes in….I can keep going!

I’m here to tell you that the goal isn’t for everyone to be perfect every. Single. Second.

My goal is to photograph your family in the season you’re in. Kids like to have fun, they want to move and photo sessions probably aren’t their ideal scenario of fun (let’s be real!).

I’ve had years of experience with children of all ages & stages. I’ve got tricks and ways to work with them so that you can simply sit back and enjoy your family.  You don’t have to worry about getting them to listen. I mean sure, plenty of parents have worked in some sort of bribing here and there (candy is totally ok in my book!), but my goal is always to work with your family & all the kiddos. I’ll pay attention to how they’re feeling, we’ll switch things up, play some games and keep the session moving so no one gets too antsy.

Whether it’s a newborn or 4 crazy kids. We’ll go with the flow and you can leave it to me to create photographs you adore.

So, don’t worry about your kids misbehaving or fussing. You just enjoy, mama.
