One of the main questions I get when talking about my business is, “how do people find you?” Most of the time, the answer is “referrals,” as many of my couples and families find me through past clients, mutual friends, old family friends, you name it.
But one of the best stories I have, is that I’ve met a bride on a plane, and that bride is Miss Stephanie. And I’m so thankful I met her to say the least.
Last year was a marathon year of traveling between packing our life up in Nashville to head back to Virginia, to our trip to Europe (#thecherrytrek), and many trips back to Nashville for various weddings & sessions as well as other out-of-state weddings. On my way back home to Charlottesville one day, I boarded the tiniest plane known to man and had a mini panic attack as I realized how small the plane was. I’m just not a fan of being able to see the front and back of the plane in one glance.
So, I nervously found my seat and kept repeating to myself that it’s just a short trip…it’s just a short trip. I noticed the girl I was sitting by had a really cute purse, so I thought I’d say hello and tell her how much I liked it. Well, she began to share the story behind the purse, as it was made by a company that employs military spouses and the conversation continued. We found that we both had recently moved from Nashville, and that she had moved to Texas to be with her boyfriend as he is in the military. She shared a bit more and talked a bit about how she thought they’d be engaged soon and we talked about how I traveled for weddings. Once the plane landed, we said our goodbyes and I told her to keep in touch….and she did!
Fast forward, she is marrying her best friend in Lake Tahoe this coming weekend! What makes the story even better, is he had some training & school in Charlottesville earlier this spring, so she tagged along for the trip and we got to do an engagement session while they both were in town. So funny how things work out!
We decided on Market at Grelen for it’s amazing views and I just think it’s so quintessentially Virginia with the rolling hills and mountain views. The way Freddy looks at Stephanie is something out of a movie and I’m just so excited to celebrate them becoming husband & wife this weekend. Congratulations, you two! I can’t wait to celebrate you!
Beautiful pictures of a beautiful couple! Our family is so happy for them and send all our best wishes for a long and happy life together!
