2016 in Photographs: Families

2016 was full of pregnancy announcements, new children, growing children and growing families. In 2015, I really began to take on more family clients as I began to find the voice I wanted to share and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to have worked with so many amazing families this past year as well.

Many families over the past couple of years have chosen milestones collections where I’ve documented their sweet child grow over their first year, and my, what a blessing and joy it has been to do this work. Each collection always includes an Heirloom Box or Heirloom Book (photos coming soon!) so that these photographs will live in the hands of their family for countless years to come.

I’m endlessly inspired by the simple and quiet moments, along with the not-so-quiet moments of children filling the air with their laughter. My hope is simply that these photographs become heirlooms and treasures for each family as they grow and change throughout the years.

I’m thankful to have worked with over 25 families this year between portrait sessions, mini sessions and the families who chose to have me document their baby’s first year. I photographed families in Nashville, Charlottesville, Richmond, Harrisonburg and New York City and I so look forward to what 2017 holds!

These are just a few favorites from the year, as there are so many favorites still to be shown. To the amazing families who chose me to be a part of these beautiful seasons of life, I thank you. It was an honor to document your sweet family!
