Oh heavenly day, all the clouds blew away
Got no trouble today with anyone
The smile on your face I live only to see
It’s enough for me, baby, it’s enough for me
Oh, heavenly day, heavenly day, heavenly day
-Patty Griffin, Oh Heavenly Day
The sun was shining brilliantly along with a peaceful breeze as “Heavenly Day” filled the wide open air. Acres for days of flowing fields, with a special spot carved out for the day that Brandy and Trey had been waiting for for so long. The lyrics of this incredibly beautiful song couldn’t have fit their day more perfectly.
To watch those around me watch Brandy as she walked down the aisle was nothing short of amazing.
Brandy and I grew up in the same hometown and she’s been a dear friend of mine for years. She stood by me on my wedding day, and I was honored to document the day she got to marry her best friend. They met during her time at Longwood University. It’s hard to even remember Brandy before Trey — the spunk she’s always had matches his endless humor. They simply enjoy the moments they have together. To say their lives will be rich with laughter together would be an understatement.
Brandy told me before they were engaged that she dreamt of marrying Trey at his parents’ property with its rolling hills and simple beauty. She had a vision, and to see that vision came to life was surreal. Many of our friends we grew up with surrounded them on their day, and it was overwhelming to think about all the life we’d been through.
Their family came together in countless ways to create their vision. From her dad making each ceremony bench + alter to Brandy hand lettering each sign…each part of the day magnified these two.
Brandy + Trey– you two are dearly loved.
