As seen in previous posts of Iconic (Part I + Part II), my main inspiration and approach for this series was simplicity and elegance. I’ve always been in the school of thought that simplicity speaks volumes and as we all know, “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”
Focusing on a woman’s true beauty has always inspired me and thrilled me. I actually met Kally at dinner with my husband one evening and when I met her, I knew I had to photograph her. Jeremy and I had visited Ethiopia for five weeks in 2011 and she reminded us of so many of the strong + beautiful women we met there. We had the opportunity to talk to her and hear a bit of her story, and come to find out, she was from Ethiopia and still had family there. Truly, what a small world.
Kally exudes grace, felicity and femininity. Not to mention her joyful spirit!
When pulling gowns with The Bride Room, this gown spoke to me in its perfect fit for Kally. I knew a dress with drama was only fitting. And that beautiful hair? Totally natural. And boy, does she rock it.
