Lifestyle Newborn Photos at Home in Charlottesville, VA: Bringing Home William

There really is nothing that can prepare you for bringing your first baby home, is there?

Being welcomed into someone’s home to document this exciting season is such an honor, and my only hope is that the photographs we make together will tell a beautiful story of their family’s beginning for years to come!

On a late summer morning last year, this sweet family welcomed me into their home, and I can’t help but smile when looking back through these photos.  There was a veil of quiet excitement felt in the room when I first met them and their sweet boy. There was a gleam in their eyes that can’t quite be described, but every parent has felt it and can’t quite describe it themselves either.

William’s nursery was full of soft blue and neutral details, including toys from his dad’s childhood and even a handmade boat from a family member. Isn’t it the best kind of wild to watch family members come together (even virtually and distanced) to celebrate new life? Celebrating the next generation of stories.

It was a joy and treat to photograph William and his family during this first days at home, so I couldn’t help but share a few favorites with you today!
