Where do I even begin!?

I first met Katie through random ties in the wedding industry that eventually led us to starting a sweet friendship. Though she hailed from WI, she attended college in Virginia, so that was just one of many things we could relate through. Katie has this vibrant joy that you simply can’t ignore. You can feel her joyous energy every time she’s in a room, and it was such a treat to get to know her during our time in Nashville.

Katie always told me that envisioned a wedding near her parents’ lake home in Wisconsin, and she said when that happened, she wanted me to be there to photograph it. Of course, she shared this while dating James, so I knew it was only a matter of time! James hailed from good ol’ South Carolina and he’s a talented songwriter making quite the name for himself in Music City. She was smitten and it was more than obvious that he was too.

So when he proposed, I received a call shortly thereafter to photograph their wedding near her parents’ lake house in Wisconsin. I knew it would be a day for the books, because these two know how to live well.

And their wedding day didn’t disappoint. They planned a day that was so incredibly fitting and true to who they are as a couple. They blended her Wisconsin roots with his South Carolina beginnings along with pieces of the city they fell in love in…and where they’ll call home for the long run. Their day was relaxed, yet elegant and oh-so-joyful.

She wore her mother’s veil, along with a modern cut Sarah Seven gown & edgy earrings. Oh, and gorgeous heels that James gifted her for their wedding. The best part? They danced to “Lovin’ On You” by Luke Combs…but written by James. Instead of a slow first dance, they lit up the dance floor and celebrated so well.
