Rainy Lexington, VA Wedding at Big Spring Farm: Hilary & Lee

Though rain on your wedding day isn’t exactly everyone’s first wish, I love how romantic the rain can be. It brings a quiet hush as everyone prepares for the day and it brings such a soft romantic look to your day, too!

I remember the first time I talked with Hilary as she shared her vision of her wedding day at Big Spring Farm in Lexington, Virginia. After Lee had proposed to her during a farm-to-table dinner at a flower farm in the mountains of Asheville, NC, she wanted to emulate a bit of that magic for their wedding. They wanted a touch of whimsy, a touch of romance, and a whole lot of love & celebration among their closest friends and family. And that’s just what their wedding turned out to be.

Sure, rain decided to join us, but it didn’t hinder any ounce of whimsy or romance in their gorgeous wedding in the mountains of Virginia. Big Spring is just one of those venues that just shines no matter the weather! They moved their ceremony to the barn and it was perfectly intimate. We even were able to squeeze in beautiful portraits in between the spotty rain.
