Our last stop…Napa Valley.
It was a last-minute addition for our trip, because I couldn’t help but wonder what the beautiful valley looked like with its rolling hills of vines.
We weren’t expecting a ton from this leg of the trip, and really hadn’t planned much here. We knew we would be tired by the time we arrived, so we didn’t want to have a ton of plans for the full day and half we had. We were looking forward to not having to drive though, that’s for sure.
Napa ended up being one of our favorite parts of the trip, because we truly went with the flow and didn’t set expectations. We started the morning at Model Bakery per a sweet friend’s request, and then headed to a vineyard she mentioned as well. We did a spontaneous tasting and had the most quintessential Napa lunch in a cafe area outdoors overlooking the vineyards.
Then, we explored a bit, and found a fun little coffee stand outdoors near a restaurant and played board games over a cup of coffee. Checkers, anyone?
We topped it all off with a reservation at Domaine Carneros, where we sat on the most amazing deck overlooking the valley. Tastings and samplers were brought right to our table, and it proved to be the most relaxing day we had! We topped it all off with some pizza downtown, because after a few glasses of wine, we needed some bread to soak it all up!

Sounds like such a fun trip! I think that when you have no expectations on a trip and no plan there’s something so special about that. Thanks so much for sharing.
